So many have asked for more details about our move. I’m exhausted from packing (and tending a still sick one year old…yikes!) so will just say a few words.
We are moving to Ft Lauderdale, FL in early July. We were able to get a great family who will be renting our Colorado home so the ties to this wondrous land are still here!
We are excited about a new place, being close to our dear Mimi and discovering a new part of the country. I will be more excited when this house is EMPTY and all my stuff is GONE. There will be dancing on the floors at that point.
So until then, I am packing. My parents are bravely babysitting and we are preparing for a cross country move in the middle of the hottest time of the summer. Hmmm…maybe December would have been a better time to move to south Florida?
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
Wow, Melodie, best wishes to you as you embark on this journey. We once moved to Florida (Gainesville) in the middle of the summer, and I’ll say – get ready to sweat! But we loved Florida with every ounce of our beings, we loved the weather in Gainesville, it was year-round running weather of course.
