Ready for the next chapter

It’s been an unusual summer.  Usually Madeline heads to Colorado where we enjoy warm days and cool nights.  We grill and sit outside around our firepit.  There are no boxes waiting to be packed or unpacked.  Bedrooms are decorated.  The kids are in a routine and busy playing with friends.  We head to the mountains for brief weekend respites.

Moving is tough. On everyone.  And we are all tired.  We are all ready for summer to begin. I think we might have a few weeks of “summer” before the school year begins though the kids are ready to meet new friends. Me?  I’m ready for routine.

I’m grateful and thankful for the life we have here.  I’m grateful and thankful that I have three healthy children and a husband who has a job and is doing what he loves.  I’m grateful and thankful for the beach and pool, the warm air and the cool air conditioning.

I’m ready to begin chapter “We’ve moved.”  Currently we are in chapter “We’re moving.”

So think of us (Matthew and I) and send a few prayers as we traverse the US in 2 days, heading from Colorado to Florida this one last time (cross our fingers).  I’m looking forward to the next chapter of life in Florida.

small world! i started reading your blog months ago when i saw on my sorority sister kirsten’s facebook (related to you somehow)…. my little boy is about the same age as your little girl and i’ve enjoyed reading! saw you were moving to ft. lauderdale and thought about suggesting christ church united methodist, where i was a pastor for 3 years (moved to central fl a year ago). totally forgot that you’d also be related to madeline, until you mentioned it! small world indeed. enjoy ft. lauderdale!
