I’ve been doing some research on Adrenal Fatigue and its correlation to gluten. This blog post has some great information in it!
I’ve often thought I’m so tired because I’m up and moving all day. And yes, that is why we get tired BUT I often feel bone tired. Moving to a gluten free diet two years ago made a HUGE difference in my digestion/stomach issues but the fatigue has continued on.
I’m discovering that caffeine might the culprit. And I’m not happy about having to give up my caffeine. BUT realizing that if I give up caffeine and see a difference it’s worth it.
Living a healthy life is hard. It takes discipline, it takes work, it takes planning and it takes sacrifice. And I LOVE my coffee.
BUT I also love not being bone tired by 7 pm at night. I love being able to keep my eyes open.
I’d welcome any ideas or suggestions about good morning replacements for caffeine/coffee. And I think this journey needs to begin soon.
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
I’ve been researching the same thing ! My 2 big culprits were SALT and caffeine. I majorly reduced salt (and also added more potassium to my diet), and then recently did an 11 day detox. (In which I even cut out my beloved coffee …. all 6 cups a day of it. YIKES!) It was amazing! Once the detox was over, I picked up one cup of coffee in the morning, rather than the amount I was used to, and what a difference ! I couldn’t even finish the whole cup b/c I felt so shaky. I’ve had more energy than I have in a long time …. I don’t know if this helps or not. I have no replacements for coffee, b/c I too, just love coffee.
hey, melodie. i’ve done a pretty big revamp to my diet lately. vegetarian and no caffeine, soda, even fruit juice. (just water). it’s made a huge difference. i LOVE coffee, so i just switched to decaf. between that and the (decaf) green tea I drink all the time, i know i’m still getting trace amounts, but i haven’t missed it. don’t give up your morning cup of joe, just switch to decaf. go half and half for a week, then scale back till you’re just decaf.
