Two months ago, we met Desta for the first time. Time is flying by and I feel like I’m standing still in the middle of it.
I am so thankful for many things. Desta can now:
Babble at the top of her lungs. She is LOUD!
Bounce like a crazy girl in her exersaucer. She loves that thing.
Eat baby food and cereal like none other. All your wonderful tips helped!
Roll over and over, making her way across every room within minutes.
Smile and laugh like an old man. Toothless and from the gut! I love it!
I’m still working on many things, personally:
Realizing that 8 hours of straight sleep is VERY overrated
Rejoicing when I get 20 minutes to run, rather than the hour or 2 I usually took.
Loving Papa Murphy’s pizza, rotisserie chickens and premade salad mixes
Blessed to have family help out, especially my sister, Mindy, who calls on the days I’m about ready to throw in the towel and offers to come watch the kids. Could NOT SURVIVE without that right now. Thank you Mindy!
Trying to stay in the minute, soak in every new thing Desta is learning and be present in all my children’s lives.
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
Okay, I love that headband. Where did you get it?
I have been a little out of the blog world lately, so I just caught up on all of your posts. I am so sorry for all that you have been going through, but trust all of that great advice that you were given. You are a great mom, attachment will happen. Thank you also for being so vulnerable, I need to hear all of this so that I have a realistic idea of what my life will be like in the next couple of months. Praying for you!
