While waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting…and you get it…
I found a great site that carries some really wonderful Ethiopian children/cultural items.
Like this poster with the Ethiopian alphabet for our kids.
Or a book about the history of coffee in Ethiopia (a personal favorite of mine!)
or this book called Zufan and the Flower, written in Amharic, English, French & Spanish.
So I’ll keep stocking my pantry and waiting for the day when all these things get read to our new daughter!
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
what a great resource! thanks for sharing it with us.
Thanks so much for your sweet comment on my blog. I wrote you a reply there, but you probably won’t check the comments again, so I figured I would copy it here so you see it:
Yes, I’m always here for hair advice! When Holly was a baby and her hair started getting really thick and curly, I made a promise that I wasn’t going to be that white mom who couldn’t do her kids’ hair!
I researched products and talked to lots of people and made Holly sit in my lap every day to get her hair done (even as a 6-month old). The great thing is that today she’s used to it and we never have hair battles.
I’m so excited about your upcoming adoption! As a family with adopted children in our extended family, it will be so neat to read about your adventures. We’ll be praying for you!!!
