Body Combat’s lessons

For the past two weeks I’ve been trying out a new class at the Y….Body Combat.

It has put me WAAAAAY out of my comfort zone.  Martial arts, kick boxing and zumba?  I know…for this girl who cannot dance to save her life, it’s been interesting.

BUT I keep going back for a few reasons.

1.  It’s a challenge that I want to win.

2.  It’s a very intense class requiring a lot of muscle work in areas I didn’t know existed.

3.  The music is amazing.

So I keep going; hanging out in the back, trying to keep up with my upper cut, jab, crisscross, jump, roundhouse kick and back again for 55 minutes.  It keeps me very humble.

And after each class, I pat myself on the back and said, “You did it.!”   And each afternoon, when I pick my kids up from school and there is some struggle to share, I have in my back pocket more of an understanding of humility. I can relate to my kids just a bit better.

Thank you Body Combat!
