Adjustment: the process of adapting to something
That is me. And my kids. And Matthew. We are adapting to something different. The weather, the land, the people, the house, the air. All adjustments.
And its working well. My mother in law, who I have always considered an amazing woman (any woman who can successfully raise three very well adjusted children into adulthood by herself owns that title I believe!), has not only opened her home to the five of us but made us feel like this is our home.
That is a HUGE gift. An incredible blessing. And allows adjustment to occur positively and successfully.
Desta is adjusting just great. Taking three hour naps every day is a welcome gift in my book. My older two, they are rocking the new kid thing. It’s not easy being new in a place where most people know everyone. They have gone in and done amazing. And me, I’m actually turning into a night person. Yes, happy birthday Matthew. It’s my gift to you today. A night owl. I think 9 pm runs help with that!
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
We were all going to bed at midnight and sleeping until 10am because of the heat!
