Today the big excitement was meeting Desta. We spent about two hours with her this afternoon getting to hold her and talk to her nannies, the staff, and the doctors.
The pictures below are from today and include shots from Addis Ababa, photos from the transitional home and with Desta, etc. Enjoy!

I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia. This blog began as a way to chronicle the journey to getting our third daughter through adoption. I have found that since I began writing, this blog has become a place for community, support and a safe place to share about my LIFE.
Oh Melodie! She is absolutely precious and your smile says it all! Thanks for posting so many photos! I’ve wondered what Gotcha Day in Ethiopia looks like and now I know. It looks the same!!

You are the queen of posts from ET! The pics are great! I LOVE the pic of Desta where the lady is bringing her to you – her expression is so priceless! It’s like she is saying, “Where have you been all my life and what took you so long?!” She is just precious. She looks great and all that hair, oh my! Can’t wait to read about tomorrow when she is finally placed in your arms FOREVER!
Thank you for the e-mail about seeing our Baby Girl – it was totally unexpected and such a boost for a rotten Monday!

Crying! That is such a precious moment. Enjoy your little girl. Will be praying all is well for your travel and her health.
Love all the photos… thanks for sharing. I especially like the one of her bed and the one of all three of you. Great post! I’m looking forward to your homecoming so I can meet little Desta. Priya is also anxious for a playdate with Caroline. She informed me today on the way home from school. Safe travels and see you when you get home!
I am at a loss for words, so I think I’ll just sit here and cry. I am so happy for you! She is absolutely adorable and well worth the struggles, I’m sure. Can’t wait for your safe return. Will be thinking and praying for you all. God Bless.
