About a month ago, Matthew and I decided to tackle the backyard. The previous owners so generously spread mulch over all the ROCK and LANDSCAPE FABRIC in the backyard. Yep, they did. We didn’t discover that fact until after we signed the papers to purchase the house so…two years later, yard work has become necessary.
We hired a great team of teenagers and interns from Vanguard Church. They came today (a high of 48 and rain!) and removed a pickup truckload of mulch and spread 5 tons of rock over a newly landscaped fabric backyard. Backbreaking work. They worked hard and I was very impressed! There is a bit more Matt and I have to do but I am so THANKFUL that most of it’s done.
My sister, Mindy, also moved out yesterday. She’s been living with us for two years and is moving on to a house with friends. We are happy for her but will miss her here.
Since we moved into this house two years ago, we have never lived here just as our small family. It is so strange to wander downstairs and have all that space. So I played musical moving today…and we are getting ready to actually live in our basement now.
I feel a need to now take a break prior to Sunday’s race. Moving tons of granite rock, beds, rocking chairs and various other things has taken a toll on this ‘ole back. I have found the business has helped me forget about the 4:30 am wake up call and then 26.2 mile race on Sunday. I know I’m ready but feel a bit nervous. More cleaning will be my cure I guess!
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
I’m so excited for you and your race. I’m hoping it goes amazing!!! Rest up and post all the details when you can.
When will you hear of your referral, I can’t stand it any longer. I hope the training is keeping your mind above the heaviness.
