Liz and I landed in Little Italy…and never left…the coffee…oh, the coffee!
I was greeted by two sleeping children in the car last night. It was fun to see their little faces and catch up with the family.
I am feeling a bit out of sorts with the time change and my marathon fast approaching (a week from today actually!). I’ve done the laundry, put away the clothes and am getting ready to repack, reorganize and drive 5 hours to Steamboat on Friday.
But until then, I am enjoying being home. I had a wonderful time away. I had many hours to journal and be lost in my thoughts. The scenery was gorgeous and I enjoyed two spectacularly beautiful runs in Rock Creek Park in downtown DC. I LOVED meeting my niece, Lucy Claire for the first time. Her parents, David and Shelly, are doing so well. That little girl is so loved and wanted. It was wonderful being able to help around the house and hold that sweet precious bundle. I got a bit of a taste of life with our little girl and am ready for that phone to ring telling me who she is.
I had great conversations with both family and friends. Liz treated me like a queen and I LOVED being in their home, enjoying their rich European hospitality. Thank you!
I will post pictures soon. My computer is deciding that now is the time to SLOWLY upload photos. I haven’t the patience to sit so will come back.
On the garage sale front, my husband did amazing! The lemonade stand was a winner and we raised $300. Yay!

I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
