We have arrived. In Florida. It was a long trip. We had a great time with special friends, Tracy and Clay Cornett. We had traveled to Ethiopia almost a year ago to get our babies, Desta and Nile being on a few weeks apart in age. It’s amazing how much a year makes in these baby’s lives. The hospitality of the Cornetts was amazing and we had such a wonderful time catching up in the midst of our trip down here.
I arrived without a voice and a very sore throat. Last night, typcial of any type of move, was filled with lots of tears and howling (the kids that is, not me!). I was reminded again that though the kids have been down here for several weeks, this is the first time we are here together as a family, moving in and getting ready to start a new adventure.
And it’s hard. And wonderful. And easy. And so where we are supposed to be. Matt and I felt that as we pulled into our driveway. This place, this time, this is where we are to be.
Pictures to come. Boxes to unpack and a throat to get better first. And a short vacation with our kids and Mimi to celebrate FL. That needs to happen too!
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
