I am blessed!

My entire family visited for the past few days. We had a wonderful time making memories, taking pictures and having the cousins play together.

I wish my extended family lived closer. The more children I have, the more I desire them to know their family, be cared for by their family.  My 87-year-old grandfather came. His visit was the best gift I could have received this Christmas.  We have priceless photos of him with the children.  They sat and badgered him for more stories of his life.  We all relearned the wonderful game of Chicken foot (which is a great game for 87 year olds and 5 years olds alike!)  We drank Coke, ate many Christmas cookies, had some fantastic meals and sat and talked for many hours!

We sat around as a family on Sunday morning, sharing the blessings God has bestowed on us this year.  It’s amazing to hear how each one of us has gone through ups and downs this year, rejoiced with each other and grieved with each other.   It is amazing to be part of a family who desires to be together.  Matt and I were overwhelmed by the fact that everyone in that room not only gave us their money to help bring Desta home but also their prayers, their love and their support.

I am blessed!
