Difficult night…Desta lost the IV again in her foot. Right now they are just using it for delivering antibiotics. We’re hoping to come home tomorrow, so hopefully they will avoid the procedure to put in the PIC/central line. She would need that if she is going to stay for more than a week-10 days at this point…
Last night, the nurse said she thought the HIV test came back negative…but that was some other patient. We’re still not supposed to get results until tomorrow.
Melodie and Desta did not sleep very much last night with all of that activity. So we’re hoping both will sleep during the day today.
Our kids at home are feeling the effects, as am I, of our family being separated again. We’ve been apart more than we’ve been together since we got Desta in Ethiopia.
Tobin’s birthday is on Thursday and the kids party is on Saturday. We are praying our entire family will celebrate these together!
On the homefront, thank you to all who have brought food. Our cup runneth over with blessings. This week, we have Madison helping us at the house with the kids to get them to/from school and activities. Our cup runneth over with the blessings of friends.
Thank you for your continued prayers for Desta and our family.

I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
Thank you so much for taking the time to keep us updated. I know you are all so weary, but your updates help us know how to specifically pray and shows the world how God is working in your life!
Praying in TN,

Continuing to pray for Desta and all of you — for clear answers you can take home with you, improvement, and comfort.
We know so well how hard it is to have a sick child in the hospital…praying for all of you today…for health, strength, comfort, wisdom, understanding (esp for Tobin and Caroline!).
Love, Holly
I am praying for your sweet baby girl to be well enough to go home tomorrow!
