This was a different Christmas for us. It was just our family, it was quiet. And you know what, one of my favorites.
Matt and I talked about it the other day. We LOVED being a family of five, hanging out together, opening a few gifts and eating homemade Vietnamese food that night.
And we decided something. I’ve seen all the videos on the Advent Conspiracy. In my heart, I long for simple times with my family. We’ve always said that it’s the experiences we share together that our children will remember, not the stuff they get.
So we’re going to take next Christmas away. No gifts. A destination Christmas of sorts. The holiday will be spent with our family celebrating a new experience, away from our home, together.
And I’m excited to save and look forward to that time together.
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
