One good run…

We were up at 6 am and ready to head out to meet our running club. Since my injury (stress fracture) 12 weeks ago, I haven’t been part of this group. Instead, I’ve been in the pool and on the bike.

I forgot how wonderful it is to run with fellow lovers of running. To run alongside someone who gets the concept of running and loves it. I got some great advice about the Peak Ascent (1/2 marathon I’ll be doing…13 miles straight up Pike Peak Mountain the first part of August). I find that long runs go by so fast.

Each time I run, I’m so thankful for a body that runs…that works together and is energized while running. I breath a prayer of thanks for each stride and breathe I can take as I run.

Sounds wonderful, congrats on getting the groove back together with your running friends. I also enjoy running with people who get it.

I’m jealous you’re going up that Peak!

Although weird, lately I’ve enjoyed running in the extreme heat even though I know a person is not suppose to do that for health reasons! It just seems that much more cathardic, with the sun burning you, to come back drenched in sweat. I much prefer the heat to the cold any day.

    :)
