I often hear the phrase in my head, “God is good. He is good all the time.”
I have to say that there are many times since the start of this adoption process that I have wrestled with that phrase.
How can a good God, who is good all the time, allow these little ones to suffer?
How can a good God, who is good all the time, cause such heartache for so many involved, whether it is the one giving up the child or the one who is waiting for that child?
How can a good God, who is good all the time, allow changes to happen with adoption fees, with timetables, with so many things?
Today, Matthew and I received a gift from dear friends. They sent a check with an amount that astounded both of us. A gift, no strings attached, to help us bring this little girl into our family, our forever home.
God is good, all the time. He is good.
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
That is awesome!!
I’m right in the middle of reading a great book called “Trusting God Even When Life Hurts” by Jerry Bridges. I highly recommend it. It has changed my entire thinking on a lot of things. A friend and I are reading it together. We read two chapters and then meet to discuss them, every other week. It’s been one of the best things I’ve done recently. It doesn’t shy away from difficult questions, but it’s so biblically balanced. I think you would really like it!
I love it! God is good.
So glad for the generous hearts of friends and family! Yes, God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good!
Blessings!
