About six months ago, I introduced a fun musical potty chair to Tobin. This chair was amazing—every time you peed or pooed in the chair, it would play a very pretty musical number (or so the directions said…). I was convinced this would get Tobin motivated and ready to get out of diapers. Fast forward several months…the potty remains untouched…the potty movies unwatched, the potty books not read and the candy old and uneaten. I tried EVERY tactic possible to get this little guy to use the potty and NOT his diaper.
Well…three days ago Tobin woke up and annouced he wanted to wear his Superhero underwear, that diapers are for babies and that his baby sisser could have his changing table in her room. Yep…he decided to be a big boy and get rid of those diapers.
So…we’ve been living diaper free for the past three days. It has taken some incentives to get the bowels to work…thank heavens for Claire’s and their batman cars (priced at $3/each…it’s a DEAL!). Tobin is so HAPPY to be a big boy that he insists on pulling down his jeans and showing EVERYONE (including the cashier at Chick Fil Let) his cool underwear. He also insists on wearing the underwear backwards…because the superheros are more prominent on the butt side of the pant…not on the front.
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
