Pushing through

determination2

I have Madonna’s song, “Push” on my play list.  Lately, this song has been on automatic replay.

“Keep on pushin’ like nobody
Keep on, keep on”

That has been my mantra during this marathon training.  Last week was horrible.  Every run I did I thought I was going to die. I hated every minute of every second that I had to run. But, I ran.  I went out there and told myself that if I didn’t run, I would be no step closer to my running goal.

This week, running has been a delight. I’ve been fast, excited, painfree and have enjoyed each run.  Now we’ll see what tomorrow’s 16 miler brings but still, a good week.

And through it all, Madonna has been blasting in my ear, telling me to keep on pushing.  I feel that way with life too.  There are weeks that I feel great, everything is in sync and all working like a well oiled machine. Then there are days that I cannot seem to get off the couch, the kids fight over every little thing and I seem to be extra sensitive.  “Keep on pushing.”

It’s my mantra for the adoption too.  I am so glad I’m training for the marathon during these last few months (I hope) of waiting for a referral.  So  many of the things that you have to do for marathon training are applicable to waiting.  So I will keep on pushing and working and slogging through at times and hoping for that goal to come soon!

    Hey Mel!
Way to go on reaching your goals. Every second sounds horrible! :) I’m such an encouragment huh?
