Quiet Mornings

Each Saturday morning, Matthew and I head out the door at 7:30 am to join our running club for our long runs. I’m usually up and sitting at the computer at 6, drinking coffee (yes, it is intentional) and listening to the sounds of the house.

I hear the heater click on and off. The kids room are quiet and dark. I look out our loft window and start seeing the sun rise above Pikes Peak and the mountain range. It is a good way to begin a day.

Musings aside, we had our final home study visit (at home this time!) on Thursday. Caroline and Tobin enjoyed showing our case worker all the rooms, but especially theirs! Matt and I answered more questions and now we sit and wait. If the process happens as expected, we will probably not have our final two documents (the home study and the immigration form) until earliest May (but probabaly closer to June or Jul.y). Once those documents arrive, we begin to ferry our dossier back and forth to the AWAA office in Virginia. Upon approval that everything in the dossier is accurate, it will be sent to Ethiopia. Then we wait. The courts in Ethiopia take off for the month of August. It will be fun to see the time God picks for us to get our little girl!
