I’m up early and amazingly enough, everyone else in the house is asleep. Guess that’s what happens when you get up at 5. Now if I could sustain this I could get so much done!
I have a few ideas and thoughts swirling in my head but that will come, another day when I have time to actually write it out.
For now, here’s a few things.
First, Reed family update. Little Miss Maura is surprising doctors with her tenacity and cheerfulness. She’s still in the hospital undergoing tests. Please keep praying for this dear family.
Second, Miss Desta. She continues to amaze us with her appetite. She consumes wild amounts of food. I’m attempting to switch her to soy formula as the other stuff, while it might as well be advertised as buying liquid gold it costs so much! She is starting to get those little legs up on her tummy and trying to move. We’ll be in a world of trouble when that begins.
Third, Christmas. As each year comes and goes, Christmas seems to get more and more pushed aside for this thing called life. I’m trying to keep the magic alive for my kids while also making sure they understand the meaning of why we celebrate. It’s been a struggle this year when I stop and think about how little so many have in this world.
Which leads me to my fourth thought, I’m taking the plunge in January and doing what Cathy Talks did for November. I’m actually scared I won’t succeed which makes me all the more frustrated with myself when I see how absolutely selfish I am. More later. But go here and read her blog. I read it every day last month and was so convicted and inspired to do the same.
Have a good Friday. Enjoy this first weekend in December.
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
Yay for you!!!! You can do it. There’s a lot of my blog friends trying it in January, and I will again, too. I’ll be posting everyone’s updates in January so you can be encouraged! It’s such a great challenge…
