Santa Fe: Take 1

pasquelsMatthew and I have been having a great weekend away in Santa Fe, NM while Madeline stays home with the kids.  I am hoping this is our last get away before our baby girl joins the family.

Aside from the heat, it’s been a wonderful time.

This morning we had breakfast at Pasqal’s Cafe.  We’ve walked by this place on previous trips, obvious to the gold mine lying inside.

If and when you travel to Santa Fe, go here.  Santa Fe is known for its rainbow trout.  WOW, smoked trout with fresh hash browns.  I had homemade polenta and couldn’t get enough.  The restaurant has a very unique American Indian decor and great round farm tables. The coffee is great and they have cookbooks with all their recipes to boot!

So there you go,  another restaurant to try.  We’ve seen art, walked miles in the HOT sun, had a few margaritas (oh my, love those!) and enjoyed getting away for a bit!
