As we were on hour 10 of our 17 hour flight Saturday, I began dreaming about being home. I dreamt about sleeping lying down in bed, not with my head tilted to the side. I dreamt about having all my babies together in one house.
It’s wonderful being home. We were able to go to church yesterday and a friend and pastor of ours, Scott Cline, prayed a special prayer of blessing over Desta.
She’s doing great. She’s making up for lost time and continues eating every 2 hours. I’m hoping that she can decide that maybe three hours is a better stretch of time at night! smile She’s decided also that 4 am is a perfectly acceptable time to wake up to play. Daddy had Desta duty this morning and the two seemed to enjoy the swing and toys he had set up for her. I don’t know as I had on my ear plugs and eye mask…best two purchases for this trip hands down!
I hope to post more in the next few weeks. There are a lot of doctor appointments, stool tests (so fun!) and other things on the “to do” list.
My parents have been an amazing help this past week. I’m so thankful they are staying until today. I needed the help with all the laundry, the kids and a chance to sleep a bit. In Tobin’s words, “I had the best time with Nana and Pop Pop!” Thank you guys for coming and being here!
We woke up yesterday morning to a wonderful surprise from my friend, Pam and her family. I’ve never had a stork before and was so excited to see one outside declaring our little girl’s arrival! Thank you Parkers!!!
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
I love the stork. So fun! It sounds like Desta is getting settled. I can’t wait to meet her.
So happy for you!
welcome home! I remember the 4AM play dates. I hope Desta makes the time adjustment quickly.
