Week one went off without a hitch. It is amazing how easy it is to NOT spend money when you don’t go to stores, browse Craig’s list or search online.
I was amazed with how much money I saved this week. And horrified and convicted as well. I have realized this week how many times I spend money because it’s there. The $1 for doughnuts for the kids, the $3 spent at the dollar section at Target, the $4 for Starbucks..it all adds up. Each buy, in and of itself, is not really that much. But added together? Wow, that makes for a lot of money spent in the “Where the heck did that go?” category.
So I march on this week with the same goals as last. More thoughts continue to swirl in my head about my intentions toward spending money. I want to make thoughtful purchases and choices. That requires time and planning. In our instant world, I can see how I’ve gotten sucked into just going with the flow and not really thinking before doing.
PS I actually managed to capture Desta with a smile on her face. The little stinker sees any type of camera and immediately closes her mouth! Happy Friday!
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
keep on going strong!!!!!
