Still waiting

Well, it’s begun. The continual waiting on doctors to return calls.  I have so much sympathy and understanding for families who have children with terminal health issues.  It’s hard.  You are so dependent on others to get information.

We have not heard from her doctor about the PCR yet.

I am attempting to find myself again.  A shower and blow drying my hair this morning made me feel somewhat human again.  Bless Madison!  Oh my, God is so good to provide such AMAZING help.  She is wonderful with the kids, willing to step in and help with anything and fun to talk to!  What a gift!

I am personally working through many issues about Desta’s health. I do understand that by adopting a child internationally, there are many things we would not know about her.  BUT we were given lab work and information regarding some pretty major issues, ie HIV.  I understand too that not everything is guaranteed in life. BUT how about clean water for these babies, for these kids.  Many of Desta’s issues this past week came because she did not have clean water.  How hard is it to clean water, to clean changing pads, to make sure that things aren’t spread as quickly?  That is what I’m challenged with today.  How can I use our last 6 days of hospital experience to help the kids coming after us? What can I DO that will keep these precious children free of illness until they can be with their forever families?  I don’t know but I’m working on it!

I’d love to talk to you! We feel the same way and went through a very similiar situation in early April – Salmonella Shigella was what Micah had. Take care – know we are and have been lifting you and Desta up in our prayers – along with your family.
