So today we had brunch with our small group from church. These wonderful friends all have an adoption story to share. Some have already adopted their children and others are in process like us.
I came away from this morning so blessed to be in this community of friends. People who understand how absolutely frustrating the home study process has been for us because they’ve been there, people who have resources/books/experience with the entire process, from the paperwork to the waiting to the adjustment after bringing their children home.
I am so thankful that God has provided this network for us. During this time of endless waiting, I am reminded (Thanks Brittlee, for your blog on JOY–so needed to hear that!) that there is a time for everything. I need to sink my teeth in the NOW and be joyful and thankful for all I’m surrounded with while we wait!
(And all in the group are INCREDIBLE cooks…so the eating is a wonderful side benefit!)
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
