The alarm

All I wanted was a quiet morning.  Coffee, slow start to the day.

I got a blaring siren at 6:30 this morning.  Yep, I forgot to turn off the house alarm before letting the dog out.  I learned some good news.  Our alarm company is awesome.  Not only did they call every phone we own within 1 minute of the alarm ringing, the Colorado Springs police was dispatched within 3 minutes.  Good to know that help is immediately on its way.  Too bad that all that awesome protection was about a dog needing to pee.

Expectations.  That’s what I’m having to rearrange today.

As for the 30 days of nothing front, things are going along swimmingly.  I am very thankful for all the money I saved last week as it will be used to repair the water damage in our basement.  Not the way I WANTED to spend the money but we have it and so I’m thankful.

I have $30 tucked away for this week (from December) for my Bible study materials and Caroline’s new class at church.  All in all, this month has been very successful so far.

The only thing I’ve truly missed is going out alone (without our dear children) with Matthew.  But if that’s the only thing missed, then I should have lived like this long ago.
