Update & New Facebook Group

There are 17 days until Desta’s court date in Ethiopia.

In the weeks leading up to our August 7 court date, we are updating various documents in our dossier that have expired. So it is back to the doctors office for physicals and the police station for background checks.

We’re beginning to get some preliminary information on our trip costs as well. It looks like the airline ticket prices will run approximately $2,000 each, based on what the travel agency sent us yesterday.

We also started a new Facebook group called “The Last Mile.” In many ways it’s the last mile before we start another journey, but we’re looking forward to closing out this leg of the race soon! If you haven’t joined, please do! We are posting information there for friends and family, and it is an easy way to e-mail out prayer requests.

Please pray for:

- Safety and health for Desta and the other children. A few weeks ago one of the children in her transitional home died. These children need protection and health.

- For smooth passage through all the remaining paperwork and bureaucracy. It’s a staggering amount of paperwork to assemble and one wrong item can create problems.

- Finances. We’ve got at least $6,000 more to raise toward our total goal. This will include mostly travel expenses. Once we get concrete financial information, we will post a full budget on the site. Please pray for provision.
