That is how I feel right now. I am channeling Forest Gump; running and not stopping.
It’s crazy actually.
You spend months, years waiting for this time to actually go and get your child. Then BOOM, out of the box you go and never stop.
We are leaving our two kiddos behind with my parents. They will have a great time but my gosh, I forgot about all the running around I do with them. Directions, snacks, lunches to pack, treats to make, places to go. Having to put that all on paper is rather daunting
We have to take our entire life on paper with us. That includes copies of our entire life on paper. And we cannot lose all that paper. Yikes, what happens if all that paper gets lost or isn’t quite right?
And packing. My goodness sakes! I have traveled with kids before but this is a whole new level. Apparently we are to bring at least 12 baby outfits for the plane ride home alone as they are known to have “blow outs.” Yes, the “b” word. My face is rather pale as I think about what those blowouts might entail. Good thing our ratio is 3 adults to 1 baby!
So if I’m absent from the blog for a bit, hang in there. I’d love to be here posting, but I have a baby to get ready for, two children in need of mommy right now, and a whole lotta packing to do!
I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia.
Who is the third adult?
Hi Melodie,
Thankful for our many crossed paths these last couple of weeks. Blessings, Michele
Finally…I got to catch up on your blog! Desta is beautiful! What a sweet girl. Greg and I are soooo excited for you and for Matt too! We will surely continue to pray for your whole family. I know that you have a lot of expenses right now so this is likely the last thing on your mind, but I happened to be flipping through the REI Labor Day sale flyer (begins 8/28) and noticed that all of their BOB strollers are on sale 20% off. I just remembered our conversation about you not needing any jewelry from Matt to celebrate this baby’s birth, but that you really wanted a good jogging stroller.
SO Exciting, Melodie. I wish you an amazing, fulfilling, exquisite journey to ET and back.
