Madeline and I decided on Wednesday to take the kids to Disney on Friday. It was Desta’s first visit to the Magical Kingdom. It was pretty amazingly magical for her! We got into the park at 8 am and immediately got to see all her favorite princesses!
We must have had fairy dust sprinkled all over our trip because every ride and event we wanted to see, we just walked in on.
We called it a day at 3 pm, swam at the pool and headed back to the Animal Kingdom Sunday.
I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
The magical fairy dust did NOT return home with us. We came home to an itchy, scratchy dog (lovely vet bill that was!) and a little boy who left school early due to some stomach issues.
Getting ready to begin our day in the Magic Kingdom.
Happy to see Mickey and Minnie but a bit perplexed that the princesses weren’t there!
“Mama, where’s my dress?” Desta hollered as soon as she saw Cinderella!
At It’s a Bug’s life. Desta was thrilled UNTIL she got inside…I forgot how scary this was for little ones!
On Aladdin’s Magic Carpet Ride!
Tuckered out.
I declined to take photos of Desta the next day in Animal Kingdom where she flailed on the ground, threw her gum and picked up several times, tossed her shoes out of the stroller and threw her chips all over the ground. We were one of “those Disney families.” Yep, didn’t take one photo of that time! I’m focusing on the good today! smile

I was born in Jos, Nigeria many years ago. I spent the next nineteen years living in Liberia, Kenya and Ethiopia. This blog began as a way to chronicle the journey to getting our third daughter through adoption. I have found that since I began writing, this blog has become a place for community, support and a safe place to share about my LIFE.
