On Saturday I took the two older kids to the What If Festival in Colorado Springs. I had never heard of this amazing festival until this year. We will definitely be going back next year.
Downtown Colorado Springs was blocked off from 10-4 pm. There were booths all over the lawns, live music on almost every corner, fantastic food trucks and of course, free activities for the kids.
- cardboard mansion where the kids could build their own extensions to add on. I made a blue turret, Tobin a table and Caroline, pumpkin and ghosts lawn displays.
- HUGE slingshot to shoot water balloons against a city building
- a creation tent where Caroline made wind chimes out of PVC pipes and Tobin made a light saber and Star Wars gun with pipes and duct tape
- Brisket sandwich (for Caroline) and mini bundt cake and icees for Tobin
The kids were able to strap on huge piles of wood and walk a 25 yard stretch, getting a feel for what it was like for most woman in Africa who have to carry wood. Super powerful display. Tobin and Caroline made electricity with their hands and a round metal ball. We saw fantastic sidewalk chalk paintings.
It was a gorgeous summer day and we had a great time! If you live in Colorado Springs, look up What If? Super fun and hours of FREE entertainment!

How have I lived here 12 years and never heard of this?? I so want to check it out next year for sure. Thanks for sharing about it!
