Whew.

What a full Christmas vacation we had! It was filled with family, food, fun and memories.

Now we are all blowing our noses, coughing and trying to get rest to prepare for a new year and school beginning!

Matt and I took advantage of Mimi’s offer to babysit and went to several movies. While I really enjoyed many that we watched, including Benjamin Button, I continue to think back to Slumdog Millionaire.

I was told that it was a feel good movie. I wouldn’t call that movie feel good and wish I had been better warned. But, it is a movie that has made me stop and think about poverty once again.

For those living in Colorado Springs, Kimball Theater is showing this movie. It’s very RAW and graphic in its portrayal of poverty in India. There are harsh story lines of beggars and the mistreatment of children.

But the end of the movie provides hope. I would encourage anyone who wants their movie watching experience to be thought provoking to see this one. The song at the end is also a winner for my ipod running mix!
