I have been busy training for the Steamboat marathon. My body is starting to see the effects of all these longs runs so I decided that I’d attempt yoga.
Everywhere I turn, magazines, people, the TV…it all points me to the AMAZING health benefits of yoga, especially for runners.
Well, yesterday I found myself in a class of 20 or so yogis. I put my mat in the back and performed the less intense stances for most poses. I felt good leaving but oh my, I woke up this morning with creaks and groans that running has never brought on.
I will go back next week. I will see if this yoga stuff really does work. Maybe I need to wait and do it after training? All I know is that I am walking around like an 80 year old woman on a bad day. What have I done?
